A new novel…The Last of Nico Sombra

Love in Buenos Aires....

Buenos Aires, Argentina is a city with enormous class conflicts. The few very rich still live like royalty, while the many poor eke out livings the best they can.

The Last of Nico Sombra is my new novel…my seventh. It tells of Nico, born in the great Villa 31 slum of Buenos Aires, and Natalia Faustino, the daughter of a wealthy Buenos Aires aristocrat. They meet while dancing tango at the club Perdición, and their romance, fueled by Natalia’s educated brilliance and Nico’s understanding of what it takes to stay alive, grows despite the objections of many around them. Each has intelligence and savoir faire, and each is deeply attracted to the other despite the conflicts between their radically different lives.

Their love causes much danger. Their young son, Narciso, is kidnapped by Buenos Aires thugs (hired by someone, but who knows by whom? Or why?), and both Natalia and Nico take immediate, violent action to save him.

Those actions may…or may not… cause the last of Nico Sombra.

The novel is being published initially here on Substack, in installments to paid subscribers only. A subscription costs $5.00 per month or $50.00 a year.
